Stormwater Control Measure Retrofit and Rehabilitation Workshop

Upcoming Workshops

This workshop is held multiple times a year across North Carolina, however, there is not a set list of cities that we visit each year. If a workshop is not posted above, we have no additional information to provide regarding future workshop locations or dates. If you have not done so already, we recommend joining our mailing list to be notified when new workshops become available.

Each workshop is unique. The information below is provided for general information about the workshop. Please reference the registration website for specific information about the individual workshop.

About the Workshop

Many stormwater control measures (aka BMPs) were installed using now-outdated designs. Furthermore, many of these practices are no longer working as intended. This workshop reviews (often simple) ways of improving existing practices. SCMs such as bioretention, dry ponds, downspout disconnections, wet ponds, swales, and rainwater harvesting systems can all be improved by minor modifications. This benefits parties interested in improving and accounting for nutrient removal, pathogen retention, runoff volume mitigation, carbon sequestration, and practice appearance. Note: attending this class will provide a 1-year extension for Stormwater SCM Inspection & Maintenance Certification. Certification must be currently active/valid (i.e. expires 12/31/2020 or later) to receive a 1-year extension.
