Stormwater Nutrient Generation and Banking
Upcoming Webinar
There are no workshops scheduled at this time
Each workshop is unique. The information below is provided for general information about the workshop. Please reference the registration website for specific information about the individual workshop.
About
In 2019, the NC Administrative Code was changed (15A NCAC 02B .0703) to allow Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) to be used as nutrient banks and in trading markets. The potential exists, when considered cumulatively, for SCMs to remove hundreds of thousands of pounds of nitrogen and phosphorus when either (1) built as retrofits to existing development or (2) when retrofitting existing – and previously permitted – SCMs. Both the technological/design aspects of SCM retrofits and the development of nitrogen (and phosphorus) markets will be discussed as part of this hybrid training. Please join a team of professionals from NC State University, government, and the private banking sector as they discuss how to turn SCMs into nutrient banks for offsets. For those attending the workshop in Wilson, a field tour will conclude the training.
