Alumni Makes Business NC Power 100 List
By REBECCA NAGY
Alumni Sepi Saidi was named to Business North Carolina’s Power 100 List. Saidi was named the 2016 BAE Outstanding Alumni. She has stayed engaged in the department by serving on the BAE Advisory Board and delivering keynote speeches to department hosted events such as the 2019 American Society of Biological Engineers Southeastern Regional Student Rally.
According to Business North Carolina, the state’s rapid growth as a major business center makes narrowing a list to 100 more and more difficult. When choosing, the editorial team looks for leaders who represent broad categories of power from CEOs, to thought leaders to president of North Carolina institutions.
A native of Iran, Sepi Saidi founded her Raleigh-based engineering firm in 2001 after working in transportation-engineering design and management for 16 years. SEPI, which has more than 300 employees in Belhaven, Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington and Charleston, S.C., has earned top industry awards and was ranked among the nation’s fastest-growing businesses by Inc. magazine six times between 2012 and 2017. Saidi is active as a director at various groups including the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority, N.C. Chamber, N.C. Banking Commission and Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
